Admission Requirements

The Advanced School-Based Speech-Language Pathology Master's Certificate (ASLPMC) is offered through the Communication Sciences and Disorders Program in the University of Arkansas College of Education and Health Professions.

Applicants must meet the following requirement to be considered for admission to this certificate program:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related area from an accredited institution

The certificate program is a 15-credit hour program with 5 academic courses. The first 4 classes are 8-week courses that do not overlap. The fifth course is a 5-week summer course. The Program of Study has details. All courses are provided online, and no on-campus meetings are required to complete course content. This program starts in the fall of each year.

Completion of this program provides 15 hours of graduate level credit on a student’s transcript and meets professional development requirements established by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.

The certificate counts as a concentration for the Educational Specialist degree program in Curriculum and Instruction. This program is a 33-credit hour program and is also offered online. The 15 credit hours required for the certificate program count toward the 33-credit hours needed for the Ed.S. Students must apply to BOTH the Ed.S. degree and the ASLPMC programs.
